Succesful site clean up underway

Dolphin Head Group have successfully completed the remediation phase on a site for 9 new warehouse/industrial units adjacent to J26 of the M25 at Waltham Abbey.

The site owned by Epping Forest District Council has been used for a number of industrial processes over the last century. The worst of the contamination caused by diesel and heavy oils allowed to soak into the ground.

300 tonnes of contaminated soil have now been removed from the ground and in line with current best practice are being cleaned on site for re-use on the site. This technique minimises environmental impact through transport emissions and avoids simply moving the problem elsewhere.

The new units will provide opportunities for small business to operate from modern, energy efficient premises with excellent communication links and provide re-vitalisation and new employment opportunities to this industrial area. The units will be available to let from early 2008.
